Update on Robert Haemmerle:
Arthur Boyd reports the following:
"Heard from Bob Haemmerle today. He is currently at Walter Reed Hospital for rehab and will be there until some time around Christmas. He suffered severe concussions and has had his shoulder replaced. He has been awarded 3 Bronze stars. One for actions in Iraq and 2 earned in Afghanistan. He also told me he is eager to return to Afghanistan in January."

A member of the James McCartney VFW Post 6765 has just returned from his third deployment to the Middle East.
His name is Robert Haemmerle and he is a resident of Wanaque. In civilian life he is a Captain in the Oakland Police Dept. In a recent letter to his comrades at the post he wrote that he was stationed in Baghdad, billeted in one of Saddham Hussain's palaces. He also assured us that the people of Iraq are happy our forces are there, although the media somehow neglects to make mention of the fact very often.
On September 21, 2004, VFW Member Arthur Boyd reported that James W. McCartney VFW member Sgt. Major Bob Haemmerle has recently returned safely from his 3rd deployment to the Middle East.

Master Sgt. Robert Hammerlie was reactivated again and will arrive in Iraq on July 11 for another tour. This time it will be for a period of one year, unless conditions change. He recently retired from the Oakland police dept. where he was a Captain.
July 15, 2007
Sgt. Mjr. Bob Haemmerle a member of the James McCartney VFW Post is home on leave this month and and will once again return to the Middle East. This time he will go to Afghanistan again for at least 6 months.
