Borough Clerk's Duties

  1. Act as the secretary to the municipal corporation and custodian of the municipal seal and of all minutes, books, deeds, bonds, contracts, and archival records of the municipal corporation.
  2. Act as secretary to the Governing Body.
  3. Serve as the Chief Administrative Office in all Elections held.
  4. Serve as the Chief Registrar of Voters in the Municipality.
  5. Serve as the Administrative Officer responsible for the acceptance of applications for licenses and permits and issuance of licenses and permits.
  6. Serve as Coordinator and Records Manager responsible for implementing local archives and records retention programs as mandated pursuant to Title 47 of the Revised Statutes.
  7. Perform such other duties as are now or herafter imposed by statute, regulation, or by Municipal Ordinance.

Notary Services

 

  • Identification is required.
  • Do not sign your document until you are in the presence of the notary.
  • If more than 10 pages require notarization, please call for an appointment at 973-839-3000, extension 7111.

County Clerk's Services

 

The Passaic County Clerk's Office will be providing the following services throughout the County: Passport Applications, Notary Oaths and Filing of Trade Names.
