Water
The Borough is separated into 3 zones for the purposes of water billing. Each zone is read at approximately the 15th of the month and the billing issued the 15th of the following month.
Water rates change as of 7/1/21 - Water charges are based upon consumption. The minimum charge for residential usage as of July 1, 2021 is $50.00 for the first 5,000 gallons, $4.35 per 1,000 gallons for usage from 5,001 gallons to 20,000 gallons and $5.71 per 1,000 gallons for usage over 20,000 gallons.
Delinquent accounts are assessed a penalty on those charges that are delinquent as of the due date at a rate of 8% per annum.
Sewer
This office does the billing and collection of sewer charges. Bills are combined with your water zone. All checks are to be made payable to Wanaque Water Dept. Water fees are credited before sewer fees unless otherwise noted.
Updated 7/1/24 rate change: Residential charges are a flat fee of $235.00 per living unit each quarter.
Although sewer charges are billed with water charges, they do not correspond with your water billing periods.
Depending on where you live in the Borough: you may be billed prior to the start of the billing period.
The sewer billing quarters are as follows:
1st Quarter: January 1 – March 31
2nd Quarter: April 1 – June 30
